Edupac - Hardware & Network Requirements

SOFTWARE ADD ON MODULES: CONTENT
	WORKSTATION REQUIREMENTS	Entry-level Pentium (P4 or up). 512MB of RAM. (1GB or higher recommended, depending on O.S.) Hard Disk Drive (Size depends on Operating System Requirements). 100mbps network card or equivalent according to your network architecture; we do not advise making extensive use of a 10mbps network. Mouse. Video card capable of at least 1024 x 768 resolution Windows operating System Windows 2000 or Later Editions (Not Vista or Win 7 Home)
	SERVER	Pentium 4 or Higher At least 1GB of RAM (2GB or higher recommended) Larger Hard Disk Drive (Depends on Operating System Requirements) 100mbps network card or equivalent according to your network architecture. UPS (backup power supply). Tape Backup, CD writer or memory key. Windows operating System Windows 2000 or Later Editions for networks with less than 10 pc's.(Not XP or Win 7 Home Editions or Vista) Windows Server 2000 / 2003 / 2008 for larger networks.
	NETWORK	Windows Network operating system. Standard 100mbps Ethernet network or fibre optic. Good quality network hardware (cabling, network cards, hubs, switches).
	BACKUP STRATEGIES	Make full backups daily Check that the data have been backed up correctly All backups should be clearly labelled and dated Avoid making “ad-hoc” backups onto the desktop or the network. Do not make backups into Edupac folders It is wise to make backups on removable media and keep them off-site. Make backups on a five-day rotation basis
